This project, located in Chevy Chase, MD was a large scale reconstruction of an existing home in 2013. The existing structure was a single story home with an exposed basement. The roof of the home was removed and a second floor was added.
The renovations were completed by Finecraft Contractors. Included in the project were 52 windows supplied by Quality Window & Door. The windows used in the project were Weather Shield aluminum-clad windows with a white extruded exterior and real wood interiors. The windows use a 7/8″ simulated divided light—giving the home an authentic traditional aesthetic. A variety of windows are used throughout the home, including double-hung windows, awning windows, and fixed pane oval windows.
In addition to the windows, Quality Window & Door also supplied aluminum-clad French patio doors from Weather Shield. These doors, like the windows feature extruded aluminum exteriors with a natural wood grain interior. Keeping in line with the design of the windows installed in the home, the French patio doors feature 7/8″ simulated divided light grilles—adding to the home’s traditional design.
Overall, the project completely reshaped the look and scale of the home. We are happy to have been part of another successful project with our friends at Finecraft Contractors.
